Part one

Research questions:
  • What specific occupation does your character practice?
A parson is a parish priest, and with this Parson we get an exemplary one. Unlike the Friar or the Monk, who fail to practice what they preach.
  • What do.es the need for this occupation tell us about the time period?
This occupation tells us that the time period is in the same era of when priests would visit with parishioners and help them with their own lives.
  • What was his or her social standing?
The social standing of The Parson was somewhat in the lower ranks but was still accepted to the nobility because he was a man of te cloth.
  • What might your character’s day to day life be like?
The Parson's day to day life would be to preach to the parish and to help them with any trouble they had. He would not do anything for money and would not let anybody else do his job.
  • What details about this character does Chaucer not include?
Chaucer does not include the parson's name and how old he is.
  • What modern day occupation might correspond to your medieval character and why?
A preist would be today's modern day occupation because they do the exact same thing today as they did then.

Part II:
1. Although he was poor, the Parson was a man who was rich in thought of God.
He was also taught the way's of a clerk but mostly taught his parish about God.
He liked to help his parishioners and would not dare charge or take any fee.
He had a large flock but he would do everything in his power to help anyone who needed it during anytime of any day.
He taught his parish to be the same way as he, that money is not necessary
2. No lines decscribe his appeareance.
3. He is a hard working man that wants to do his job by himself and no one else.

Part III.
1. Chacer's attitude towards the character is kind because the Parson is humble, hard working, and a role model for all of the people.
2. He does not take money from parishioners he helps and he does not allow anyone else to do his job or help him.
3. A knowledge of the time period is needed because of the word PArson itself. it is a type of priest but it is not normally heard often today.
