1. What specific occupation does your character practice?


The Pardoner is a granted priest works for the church selling Pardons from the church


2. What does the need for this occupation tell us about the time period?


- What this occupation tells us about this time period is religion was very important to them,
so the Pardoner come around having people buy Pardons to for give his sins.


3. What was his or her social standing?

The social standing of the Pardoner is very high position since the Church was the number one thing
in this time period


4. What might your character’s day to day life be like?

My characters everyday life would be going to church everyday and then after he is done with
church he would go out to sell Pardons



5. What details about this character does Chaucer not include?

-The details that the author did not include the discription of himself like his clothing and his apperence.
Also the author did not include how greedy he was outside of the church

6. What modern day occupation might correspond to your medieval character and why?

- In today's day to day life might be like a someone going and asking you to donate money to a certian cause
but in the end they took your money for there own doing for there own needs.

He tells a lot of what he does for his occupation in this time period and how he does it.

The word choices showed how they lived there lives back in this time period

The satire in this character is when he goes basically door to door taking other peoples
money to for give there sins.


4 .What do you think Chaucer's purpose of including this character was?

I belived that this character showed that the church just wanted to take your money.
